The technical sales guys on the domestic market are in charge of making business grow in a specified geographic area. They analyze customer requirements, offer the technically appropriate solutions. They train the distribution network on new products. They report any new customer requirements to the marketing department.

On the international market, area sales managers have the same responsibilities and work more particularly with distributors.
